Asylum for Americans?

Joe Biden is planning to significantly increase the number of refugees admitted to the U.S., changing Trump-era limits(currently 15,000 annually). Especially given covid-restrictions, vaccine competition and tough economic times for many citizens, how can this even be considered?

Note that during wars (Civil War, W.W.1, W.W.2) immigration to the U.S. has been significantly limited. This is especially true during economic hardships like the Great Depression.

The Daily Wire is reporting that “The president intends to sign an executive order as soon as Friday as part of his administration’s push to increase the number of refugees allowed into the U.S., according to CNN. It is unclear when Biden hopes to work up to the 125,000-refugee limit. Biden has signaled to migrants south of the U.S. in countries such as Honduras that his administration intends to relax immigration laws.” (dailywire.com 1/28/2021)

These refugees from Central America may have legitimate reasons to leave but the desire to experience the American Dream is the most common factor attracting immigrants to the U.S.

According to the U.S. Customs and Immigrations Services, “Every year people come to the United States seeking protection because they have suffered persecution or fear that they will suffer persecution due to:

  • Race
  • Religion
  • Nationality
  • Membership in a particular social group
  • Political opinion”

Ironically, it is the same factors that are used to grant asylum in the U.S. to refugees that are used to disenfranchise and discriminate against U.S. citizens at present. The Democratic Party and Biden in particular are leveraging every government resource to address ‘systemic racism’ and blame (mythical) white supremacy for all problems. White Americans are now experiencing racism as they are blamed for all of America’s ills; real or imagined. Attacks on Christianity and Judaism are on the rise and Americans of European ancestry are marginalized or treated as culprits in a national conspiracy of racism and privilege. Finally, membership in social groups is the basis for false attacks by the media and politicians and the removal of free speech on a daily basis. Only conservatives are banned from social media platforms, censored repeatedly, prohibited from religious gatherings or mass protests while B.L.M. and ANTIFA march and riot freely. Only Republicans are charged with incitement of violence and only patriots accused of being domestic terrorists.

If the current asylum model is enforced, 70 million plus Americans are deserving of asylum. Where do we go?
